Palworld Element Weakness Chart

Palworld has nine elements, and every Pal has one or two of them. Attacking with the right element deals extra damage; attacking into a resistance is a waste. This is the complete element weakness chart for Palworld 1.0 — memorise the row for whatever you're fighting.
Full element type chart
Each element is strong against the types it deals bonus damage to, and weak to the types that hit it hard:
| Element | 💥 Strong against | 🛡️ Weak to |
|---|---|---|
| 🔥 Fire | Grass, Ice | Water |
| 💧 Water | Fire, Ground | Electric, Grass |
| 🌿 Grass | Water, Ground | Fire, Ice |
| ⚡ Electric | Water | Ground |
| ❄️ Ice | Grass, Dragon | Fire |
| ⛰️ Ground | Fire, Electric | Water, Grass |
| 🌑 Dark | Neutral | Dragon |
| 🐉 Dragon | Dark | Ice, Dragon |
| ✦ Neutral | — | Dark |
How to use element matchups
- Bring the counter. Fighting a Fire boss? Bring a Water Pal. Facing a Dragon (like Jetragon)? Ice is your best answer.
- Watch dual types. A Pal with two elements is strong in two ways but can also be weak to two — a Grass/Ground Pal takes extra from Fire, Ice and Water.
- Neutral is safe but flat. Neutral Pals get no bonus and only fear Dark, which makes them dependable all-rounders and mounts.
Best Pals by element
Browse the strongest Pals of each type — every element page lists its Pals by rarity, with breeding routes:
- Fire Pals — kindling + strong offence (e.g. Jormuntide Ignis, Blazamut).
- Water Pals — counter Fire/Ground (Jormuntide, Neptilius).
- Dragon Pals — the rarest, hardest hitters (Jetragon, Orserk).
- Ice Pals — the answer to Dragons (Frostallion).
- Dark Pals — nocturnal night raiders (Shadowbeak, Necromus).
