Egg Types & Incubation

Every bred egg has to be incubated before it hatches. Matching the egg's temperature is the key to fast hatching.
The Egg Incubator
Build an Egg Incubator and place an egg inside. A progress meter shows hatch time, which depends on the egg's rarity and how well you match its preferred temperature.
Egg temperature types
Eggs come in temperature flavors — normal, hot (fire-type), cold (ice-type), and so on. Each has a comfort temperature. If the incubator is too far from that comfort zone, hatching slows to a crawl.
Speeding up hatching
- Place Heater devices near the incubator for cold/normal eggs that need warmth.
- Place Cooler devices for hot eggs that need cooling.
- Base location matters too — a hot biome naturally warms eggs, a snowy biome cools them.
Dial the temperature into the egg's comfort band and even large, rare eggs hatch quickly.
