Beating & catching Alpha Pals

Every Alpha is worth fighting: they drop more loot and better gear, and capturing one gives you a high-level Pal instantly. To win:

  • Out-level it slightly and bring Pals of the element it's weak to — each Pal's page lists its exact weakness and best counters.
  • Stay mobile on a fast mount to dodge the Alpha's heavy hits.
  • Capture instead of kill — weaken it to red HP, apply Sleep or Freeze, and throw your best spheres (see the capture guide).

How do you beat an Alpha Pal?

Come in a few levels above the boss, bring Pals of the element it is weak to (see each Pal's page for its weakness), keep a mount to dodge, and stock healing. Alphas hit much harder than the wild version but drop better loot and can be captured for a strong, high-level Pal.

Can you catch Alpha Pals?

Yes — Alpha bosses can be captured just like wild Pals, and because they spawn at a high level they make excellent team members or breeding stock. Weaken it to red HP, apply a status like Sleep, and throw your best Pal Spheres.
